onto today’s topic: concert culture 🎙️
my concert count is currently at 4, and each had a very distinct vibe to it.
yesterday i went to the travis scott concert in oakland (3 hours after deciding to go) and all i can say is travis scott fans truly fit the artist vibe. i’m not really a fan of his music, but thought why not? a concert is a concert. 🎤
it was a lot of fun despite knowing 2% of the lyrics.
what i’ve noticed from my recent growing concert obsession is that smaller artists have the best crowd, because their audience is always filled with avid fans. larger artists, on the other hand, have a mix of die-hard fans, and people that know of the artist or have heard of a song or two in passing (me). as a result, the crowd’s energy is less evenly distributed.
another thing i noticed is that the travis scott crowd culture was so clearly different from the crowd at enhypen and dpr ian’s concerts. the way people were dressed, the concert etiquette and just vibe in general. people were getting dragged by the police left and right at the travis concert. 😭
the vibe of the music and lyricism translates to the fans and crowd it seems. infer with that observation what you will.
regardless of the concert culture, it’s a fun time if you go with friends that will vibe with you.
