onto today’s topic: nurturing your inner-child 👶
s/o to manny for inspiring this post.
why did playdates from childhood turn into chats over coffee? why can’t we still build legos or colour in colouring books while catching up? i believe a very important part to making memories in long-lasting friendships is nurturing your inner child together. 🪀
friendships in our childhood were so lively and packed with joy because we experienced life together. as we get older and in adulthood, it obviously gets harder to actually walk through daily life with your friends because life grows busy, but actually doing fun things together instead of just a coffee is so much healthier. 🧩
you associate that fun with the person, and both actually further develop a relationship rather than just exchanging updates about your own lives.
i saw my hometown friends for the first time after 3 months today. we had a blast with our christmas sleepover just like the ones we had in high school, painting ornaments and playing mario kart. 🎮️
our friends are there to laugh and enjoy life with. maturing doesn’t mean we have to let go of things that brought us joy as kids. fulfilling your childhood even when it’s over is so healing, don’t cast it away.
how do you nurture your inner-child?
