welcome to introspection ft. harsehaj! āļø iām harsehaj ā always up to something in social good x tech. scroll to the end for a daily roundup on unique opportunities. :)
overintellectualization of each passing moment š
despite writing on substack, i actually donāt consume a large number of publications. i like to read a mix every day: research papers, books (mostly fiction lol), and blogs. the latter, although a great reference for new āaha!ā insights, often tends to overintellectualize many different aspects of fleeting moments.
iām under the belief that many things in our natural world can just exist. thereās no need to rationalize, intellectualize, and draw patterns between every little thing. we can just feel. things can just be. thereās a subtle pressure on platforms like substack and twitter to be particularly introspective and churn out bite-sized ted talks.
i mean, writing this post might itself be an over-intellectualization of this whole posting pattern. however, all of my posts are certainly not very intellectual. trivial topics and those philosophical and technical all the same, because thatās the true reflection of my brain. iām not clip-farming 24/7 for a novel blog headline. my topics are, for the most part, things i thought of 2 minutes before typing.
perhaps, the best insight is letting some moments go un-analyzed.
itās good to think, but overworking the philosophical part of your brain takes away from the pieces that actually make up those patterns. i donāt need to see another 18-tweet thread overintellectualizing the productivity boost of watching the sunrise. just enjoy the pretty colours and feel appreciative. š
zoom in, instead of out, every so often. we donāt have to be innovative in our thinking at all times to be valid.
