onto todayās topic: i just moved to sf š
iām writing this as iām sitting by the airport gate waiting to board my one-way flight to san francisco.
a few months ago, i decided i was going to take a year to build, explore different internships and travel the world before heading to unc chapel-hill for my undergrad.
these next few months mark the first part of it: building continuously under the guidance of world-class mentors.
in june, i was extremely stressed trying to secure an internship for the fall so that i had something concrete to block into my ambiguous one-liner of a plan. i faced many rejections, but eventually got an even better outcome than i could imagine. š«
weighing in between spending the fall in nyc or sf, i eventually caved in to the silicon valley hustle to take on an amazing opportunity to join the residencyās founding cohort. i will also be working on ai and product at a startup championing a mission i deeply care about: improving healthcare accessibility.
waiting to board the plane right now, iām filled with a mixture of excitement and ambition, but also uncertainty.Ā
and, i think thatās okay.
iām uncertain how these next 3 months will map out the trajectory of my life. šŗļø
iām uncertain if iāll find lifelong friendships in such a new place.
iām uncertain that iāll hit all of my goals.
but, itās this exact uncertainty that will enable me to think and act outside of my comfort zone. that possibility makes me jittery with excitement.
thereās so much i want to do, and so many people i want to meet. i plan to soak up everything there is to learn while keeping my intentions at the core of what i do.
this brings me back to my piece on gratitude once again. this wouldnāt have been possible without my parentsā endless support. ā¤ļø this is the most unconventional thing iāve done in my life, and iām happy that my family is there for the ride right by my side.
i woke up at 4am for this flight, but my mind is flitting rapidly across new ideas to test out. letās see where these 3 months take me!
but first, itās time to take a nap on the plane.
