onto today’s topic: your friends’ success 🫂
in a great friendship, you’re just as excited about your friend’s wins as your own. genuinely hoping for the best for your friends and helping them achieve their own goals is one of the biggest signals of a good person, and a great friend.
i want to see my friends thrive.
if any of them organize an event, i sure as hell am going to cover all my bases in spreading the words. launching a substack? i’m already subscribed and opening the email as soon as it hits my inbox. my sister texting me about the cool mental health gig she just got? calling her immediately and hyping her up.
another person’s success never takes away from the potential of your own — in fact, it only brings you closer. even if you’re gunning for the same internship spot or fellowship acceptance, if not you, isn’t it amazing that your friend got it?
community is never built around competition — it’s shaped around shared congratulations and truly internalizing that a win for your people is a win for you.
it’s a good feeling knowing i’m surrounded by driven and accomplished friends. i’ll waste no opportunity in flexing them to the world. :)
